BACKGROUND: Tim Jones has been a trial lawyer for over 18 years. Tim practices exclusively in the area of plaintiffs’ personal injury, with an emphasis on cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Tim has a track record of consistently obtaining outstanding verdicts and settlements on behalf of his injured clients.
Tim has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for ethics and legal ability. He has also been named to the Oregon Super Lawyers list in 2006 and 2007. He was born and raised in Stayton, Oregon. He is a graduate of Oregon State University and Willamette University School of Law. He resides in Portland with his wife and three children.

REPRESENTATIVE SETTLEMENTS AND VERDICTS: In litigation involving serious personal injury or wrongful death, experience matters. Tim has negotiated some of Oregon’s highest personal injury and wrongful death settlements, while achieving courtroom victories for his clients.
- Androutsakos v. M/V PSARA, an $11.6 million dollar verdict following a maritime accident where his client suffered a severe brain injury.
- Smith v. Rogue Valley Hospital, a $10 million settlement. This was a claim of hospital negligence resulting in catastrophic brain injury.
- McGregor v. Nor-Am Construction, a $2.0 million settlement for injuries sustained in a construction accident where a concrete pumping truck tipped, crushing Mr. McGregor’s leg and ending his career as a plumber.
- Rogers v. Trusco Tank, a $1.0 million dollar settlement following a construction accident where Mr. Jones’ client was severely injured during the collapse of scaffolding.
- McKinley v. Teton West, a $1.1 million settlement following a construction accident where Joseph McKinley was severely injured when he fell through an unguarded opening in the second floor of a building which was under construction.
- Krull v. Pi Kappa Phi, a $1.0 million wrongful death settlement. This lawsuit was the impetus for sweeping changes regarding alcohol use by local and national chapters of this fraternity.
- Orme v. Kaiser. This was a claim of medical negligence regarding the failure to diagnose a serious neurological disorder. This case was settled on a confidential basis.
- Kopaz v. Greenleaf, M.D. This was a claim of medical negligence regarding the severing of a nerve during elbow surgery, causing permanent neurological damage. This case was settled on a confidential basis.
- Gorecki v. Kaiser. This was a claim of medical negligence regarding the failure to diagnose a serious neurological disorder. The case was settled on a confidential basis.
- Peterson v. Honda. This case involved serious personal injury following the explosion of an outboard motor. This case was settled on a confidential basis.
- Key v. Rask. A $456,865 verdict for medical negligence. This case involved the severing of a nerve in the elbow during surgery. This verdict was one of the largest awards of its kind in the history of Washington County, Oregon.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:
For more than 25 years Mr. Jones has worked throughout the City of Portland
in a variety of volunteer capacities. He has served as Director of an emergency
relief program in inner city neighborhoods of North and Northeast Portland.
He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s
Home for Boys, and as a member and Chairman of the School Board for All
Saints Grade School. He has worked extensively in coaching and organizing
youth athletics.
