BACKGROUND Michael Neff has had significant
experience handling litigation involving the Columbia River Gorge
National Scenic Area. He served as the Special Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney successfully representing Skamania County in the landmark
case involving Brian and Jody Bea, Skamania County v. the Columbia
River Gorge Commission.
Mike also negotiated a $25 Million Forest Service land acquisition
in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area on behalf of landowners
whose land was downzoned as a result of the National Scenic Area designation.
Mike graduated from Whitman College with a BA in 1982, and received
his law degree from the University of Oregon in 1992. Prior to law
school, Mike was a newspaper reporter for the North Idaho Press, the
Shoshone County News Press, and was the political reporter for the
Coeur d'Alene Press. He also served as Assistant Press Secretary to
U.S. Senator James McClure (Idaho).
